Cabernet Franc – Organic

The Cabernet franc grape, along with Sauvignon blanc, is the parent grape to the popular wine grape Cabernet Sauvignon. The grape is thinner-skinned than Cabernet Sauvignon and does well in cool regions. It only made its appearance in Argentina about a decade ago, but has had great success in producing savory wines, with elegant aromas and fine tannins.

V1 Estates are produced with high quality grapes from various countries and regions determined each harvest. Each harvest we find the best quality grapes in specific regions of Sicily, Chile, Argentina, California and Ontario. San Juan province is the second city of the country for its volume of grapes and wine productions. This Cabernet franc comes from the Tulum Valley which is located between the Andes and Pie de Palo hills at the left bank of San Juan River.

A great food pairing with this wine is warm toasted walnuts, Anjou pears and blue cheese. Cabernet Franc has a unique bell pepper aroma which pair well with read meats and heavy game. Mediterranean fare, dishes with tomato sauce, veal and poultry dishes can also be a great match. It can also be enjoyed after dinner and before dessert.
