Malbec

One of the traditional Bordeaux varietals, Malbec has characteristics that fall somewhere between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It can bring ample tannin, deep color and a particular plum-like flavor. Malbec comes to its own in Argentina, where it is the major red varietal planted. Argentine Malbecs are usually intense, complex and dark-colored with a lush structure. Successful Argentine Malbec growers claim that in order to develop full maturity and distinction, Malbec needs hang time, even after sugar levels indicate ripeness

V1 Estates are produced with high quality grapes from various countries and regions determined each harvest. Each harvest we find the best quality grapes in specific regions of Sicily, Chile, Argentina, California and Ontario. Argentina is known as the producer of the finest Malbec and Mendoza’s Malbec is considered to be the best in the world.
