Cabernet Sauvignon – Organic

Cabernet Sauvignon is the world’s most loved red wine. It is nicknamed “the king of red wine grapes,” and often paired with other reds, including Merlot and Shiraz. On the vine, the Cabernet Sauvignon grape is hardy with thick bluish black skin. This thick skin contributes to the grapes notoriously high tannin levels, which soften and smooth with aging. The grape originates from the Bordeaux region of southwest France and is known to be the result of breeding a Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon blanc grape. The Cabernet Sauvignon grape itself is very small, with a thick skin, creating high proportions of phenols and tannins which can influence the structure and flavor of the wine.
V1 Selects are made with grapes from prestigious vineyards; older and mature, these vineyards typically have a small yield, resulting in more intense and complex wines. Los Nogales, located in the Maipo Valley, is a vineyard which uses organic methods of farming. In the Maipo Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon wines are characterized by their pervasive black currant fruit and an earthy, dusty note.

Pairing

Our bold Cabernet Sauvignon is well paired with strong flavored foods like filet mignon, grilled steak, lamb chops, strong flavored cheeses, and even dark chocolate. When Cabernet Sauvignon is paired with steak or dishes with a heavy butter cream sauce, the tannins are neutralized, allowing the fruits of the wine to be more noticeable
