Chardonnay

Chardonnay grapes are small, think-skinned and fragile and therefore expensive to grow, harvest and age. They require warm climates with cool nights. These grapes come from Casablanca which is a valley approximately 24 kilometers long and forms part of the Coastal Range. The climate in the valley of Casablanca is cool, presents morning fog and a wide thermal range between day and night, favoring the slow maturity of the grape.
V1 Selects are made with grapes from prestigious vineyards; older and mature, these vineyards typically have a small yield, resulting in more intense and complex wines. This Chardonnay is from the Santa Filomena vineyard located in the Valley of Casablanca. It is known for its clay soils rich in minerals from the Andean snowmelt, with a cool climate ideal for cultivating white varietals.
