Malbec – Organic

Malbec is originally from France, although its ideal soil and climate conditions are found in Argentina. Mendoza is the dominant wine region nestled beneath the Andes. With very little rainfall, the snow melt from the Andes is the soul reason viticulture is possible here. Another important factor is altitude: the vineyards here are high up, and the extra UV light that the grapes absorb causes the fruit to develop thicker skins, with more, and softer, tannins, as well as more intense colour. The cooling effect of the altitude means the grapes preserve acidity even when they are allowed to hang for quite a while before harvest.
V1 Selects are made with grapes from prestigious vineyards; older and mature, these vineyards typically have a small yield, resulting in more intense and complex wines. Alto Las Parras is an organic vineyard, 870 meters above sea level in the region of Lulunta, Argentina. Argentina is known as the producer of the finest Malbec and Mendoza’s Malbec is considered to be the best in the world.

Pairing

With its intense ruby red color and sensual violet overtones, our Malbec first captivates the eye. This full-bodied and complex Malbec goes best with red meats such as roast beef, steak and prime rib. It is also a great partner to hard cheeses and pastas in tomato sauce.
